We got meat!

Josh went hunting yesterday with his bro. Kody and he got a cow elk. It pretty much looked like the picture above. I didnt show the picture of the one he actually got because I thought the pictures were kind of gross and bloody. Seeing the dead elk in the back of the truck, that I will
eventually eat was REALLY not my bag, but I guess I will have to buck up. I know meat that we eat comes from some animal somewhere, I just dont want to see that animal beforehand.

Anyways, I have never prepared a meal using elk meat before so if anyone has any tips or recipes please share!

Good job Josh!

Halloween

Last tuesday there was a carnival at church for the primary kids, so I took the girlies. Bailey wanted to be a Giants cheerleader this year, which wasnt too exciting bacause she has been wearing this outfit like twice a week for the last 2 months. Every time it was clean that is what she would put on and when it wasnt clean she would whine at my to try to get me to let her wear it. I dressed up Marlee to match that night.Callie was Cinderella. She had a really hard time deciding what she wanted to be this year. Cal was the only one who would do anything at the carnival and she pretty much rocked too. this pick is throwing a football through the hoola hoop game. What was Cal's score? 3 out of 3! Nice!she also got 3 out of 3 on the one where you throw the beanbag through the hole. Bailey wouldnt do anything that night. She wouldnt even take candy from the ladies when they held out the candy bowl. She said she didnt want to because she would just loose.

These are playing at home on Halloween During the day Callie was a ballerina, but I thought she would be too cold for trick or treat and her dad didnt like the costume too much.

So for Trunk or Treat she went as Snow white which is an old costume my mom made for Jen . Trunk or Treat was underwhelming. There wasnt very many handing out candy and more parked out of the lot going around for the candy. And I am pretty sure It ended early. I know we left really early.Marlee went as a Bear, mostly because I wanted her to be warm. We ended the night at Gram and Gramp Stewarts.

4 months!

We have had a busy week and a half. We moved into our house even though it wasnt (and still isnt) completly finished. It has been fun and really exhausting. Moving with a 4 mo. old that only breastfeeds and is at the stage of not liking other people besides mom and Dad - not so fun. Also we finished getting all of our crap into the house Sat. night and had to have everything looking good by 10 am Mon. for the appraisal. Then it was a week of trying to get everything finished onthe house. Its close, but not quite there.

Did Everyone watch Biggest Loser? Half of my team is now gone. I think they made the right choice though. the daddy I dont think could have competed very well. But I was so impressed by how much he went home and lost. I really didnt expect that from him.

Anyways, on to what this post was really about. Marlee is 4 Months old now. She had her shots last week and is now weighing 12 lb. 12.5 oz. She is a cute little stinkerbutt. She likes to talk and does this noise like she is fake laughing. I think that is all of our fave thing. She smiles every time that her Dad talks to her. she loves it. She is a pro at rolling both ways. I did have to get out of bed with her for the first time at night about 2 weeks ago. I dont know how I did that all the time with Bailey. Her sisters have been helping her with a few firsts.
Callie wanted her to experience music through headphones. She just kind of listened, didnt smile or anything. And today we went to the bank, and when you do the drive up window they usually give you a sucker or some candy for the kiddies. so Bailey was eating her sucker and she was in the seat next to Marlee. Bay started singing something about you want a sucker dont you over and over. I thought she was just kind of taunting Mars (not that Marlee would care), but when I went to get the kids out of the car I saw Bay moving the sucker away from Marlees face. I said you didnt really give it to her right? Bay stops and says no, but I look down at my babys very smiley face and see that her lips are red, shiny and slobbery. Quite a girl that Bailey! do you know many times I have told her that she cant feed the baby and not to put things up to her mouth? Too many to count, thats how many!
Oh well, so much for the rice or vegetables, Marlees first food will be suckers!

Biggest Loser!

The new season of Biggest Loser started last tuesday, is everybody pumped? I sure am. So the pic tells you who I am rooting for right now even though they made a really really stupid decisioin that could have gotten them booted last night. (Instead the gray team got booted. I will miss you L.T. and Tom because I liked listening to you talk.) The reason I am picking Yellow right now is because of the daughter. She is a go getter. She sets some lofty goals and gets after it. Like the first week when she won the immunity. She set a big goal last night trying to win 10 thou, betting that her and daddy could lose 2.4% ( which is really hard for week 2). They needed to lose 14 lbs. to winand they lost 11. They were really stupid to do that , but reallyyou have to give her credit bacause the girl lost 6 lbs. for the week, which I cant remember but it was probably more thatn the other girls and she is one of the smaller girls, so she has less to lose. One of the gray team guys , who are both big, lost 3 and the other gained 3. And can I just say that L.T. was hilariuos with his comments after he got booted. He was saying that he has got to kick butt at home other wise it is like going on a makeover show and coming home uglier. so funny!Anyways, Go get em Colleen! My second choice would probably be the purple team, just cause they seem nice, and fun, and like people I would probably like in real life. I tend to not like the people on Bobs teams because they always seem to get Cocky and backstabby too early in the game.
Oh, and a little annoyance of mine, why does everyone as they are voting someone off say that it is with a "heavy heart" that we boot you out the door. What the heck is heavy heart supposed to mean. It is like the Seinfeld episode where George keeps saying Stuff your sorries in a sack mister, and Jerry keeps saying What does that mean. Just say what you mean people, dont say some cutesy "saying".
Anyways I am sure this is way too long, but I so whish I could be on the biggest loser! I am reacy to win the show. Now whos with me? Lets lose some fat!

She rolled!

I know this is thrilling, but Marlee rolled from back to tummy for the first time last night.

Thats all I really have to say about it.

Floor and Fireplace

The fireplace looks a lot better now and the flooring (except the carpet in bedrooms is done.) We really like how they both turned out. Josh picked the Pergo and I didnt like it so much when he picked, but now I think it looks fabulous. Congratulations honey, you were right and I was wrong!

Uncle Bill did a great job on the rock. I love the cool log we were given for the mantle!Josh was going to get the flooring done this weekend with a couple of friends, but his Dad and Bill suprised him by doing it for him while he was at work.Bailey wanted to model the floor. What a nut!

For my Dad

My Dads been asking about the house. It seems as though it will never be done, but here are a few new things that have been done.

These are the wood ceiling in the Kitchen/ living room. These pics dont show it that great, but it looks really good. I really like it.The gas fireplace was installed today. Doesnt look too stellar yet, but the rock work will be done on Mon or Tues. and we got a sweet log that will be made into the mantle. All the bedrooms have been the wood trim, which makes them look so much better. You can kinda see the door which those look good and our roman fan which is cute and suprisingly does pretty good at moving the air around even though it has short stubby blades.and here is the girls room trimmed. I think we should have done the beige in the closets, but I am not willing to repaint it right now.

So there it is hopefully it wont be too much longer.

Whos your favorite Prophet?

During sharing time on sunday We were playing a game and the kids had to answer a question when it was their turn. This little boy in Sunbeams got asked, who is your favorite prophet? So the little boy immediately says Barrack Obama! Sooo cute! It was hilarious! His mom was in there and explained to him that the guy asking the question meant the president of the church.

Big Juds

Satudray Joshs nephew got baptized and for the rest of the day Bailey kept telling us that she "dont never want to get baptized." She kept saying over and over and she would cry, with tears and all. You see, she doesnt want to be dunked in the water. She is now scared of being baptized. Oh well, Im sure she will get over it by the time she is 8.

Anyways after the baptism we all went to Big Juds ( remember that place everyone that went to Ricks). So, Josh decides he is going to get the Big Jud which is a 1lb. hamburger basically the size of the plate. He thought that he would be able to eat the whole thing. If you are successful then they take your picture and it goes on their wall.

Here are the befores:

And here is the after:

Not even close! He almost ate half of it. Nice try Josh!

Paint and Lights!

We painted about two weeks ago and can I just say, priming, not so fun. Paint goes on so much easier. Anyways, we didnt want any white walls. We have rented for 7 years and we are sick of the plain white walls! Some of the colors turned out great, others not quite as great, but there isnt any color that I hate.

The elecrician came yesterday to trim and the cabinet guy finally came to start on the cabinets. We are finally to the things that are exciting to see. Here are the kitchen Cabinets. Not a very good picture, but they are chocolate brown and a pretty simple look which I really like.

This is the girls room. The girls say the pink looks like frosting. I would have to agree. At first I was like oh holy pink, but now I really like it, especially with that gorgeous chandy. So cute, it has beads that go on it so its not quite all put together yet .This is the master with the choc brown. It doesnt look that great in the picture, but it looks awesome in the room. Even grandpa Stewart likes it, I think it is the only one he likes though.

The Master bath is blue. here it is from in the bedroom.

And here it is in the bathroom. I love the color. It pobably wasnt the best choice as far as saleing it goes, but we can repaint at that point.

the halway, ceilings, other bedroom, and part of the living room are all beige, not that you can tell from this pic. Itlooks more beige in person, but it turned out a bit lighter than what we wanted.

This is the red that is in most of the Kitchen and living room. I think this was before the second coat though.

1st Grade

Callie started school today. She has been so excited. We spent $50 getting all the supplies on the list (and that doesnt even include the backpack and a few other items because Granny Julie bought those for her while she was here). It was kind of a ridiculous list like 12 Ticonderoga tri-write pencils. What is that? We never found them so the 50 doesnt include that from the list either. Anyways...
she wanted her hair straightened and she picked her clothes out the night before.

Here is the Hannah Montana backpack that she picked. Awesome.

So, when she got home from school I asked her how it went. She said that her teacher is soooo nice and she told me that she met this girl on the playground that is in 2nd grade and that they are new friends now even though the girl is in second grade. She thought that was so cool. She also told me that I owe the school money because she ate the school lunch today. I was like what the Why did you eat the school lunch. you see they got out at 12 today, so silly me I didnt pack her a lunch because I didnt think they would have lunch time and she would eat when she got home. Oh well. She liked school though and is excited to go back tomorrow.

Exit Talk

So my ward is doing this stellar new thing that I am calling an exit talk, not an official term or anything. They have been having people that they know are moving out give a talk before they leave andso today they asked us to talk next week. Sooo not nice. I hate doing talks! And you knowwe will have to do another one as soon as we move in to the new ward. Does anybody elses ward do this? Any stellar ideas for a topic? They didnt give us topics which I dislike too.

Man she is awesome!

This girl has been so great with her naps today! she went to sleep as soon as we got into Sacrament meeting today and didnt wake up until 10 minutes before church was done. Then we were going to a friends house to eat at 2 and she went to sleep as soon as we started eating and slept until I buckled her in her seat 2 hours later, which left me free to eat and socialize without having to entertain her. And this picture is of her now taking another good nap while I fed the other girls, got them ready for bed and she is still asleep now.
If you think it is weird that I am so thrilled with her just because she sleeps (since I do post about it alot) you have to understand that my last baby did not sleep well at all, she cried A LOT, and she screamed if anyone held her but me. That has a bit to do with why Bay and Mars are 3and1/2 years apart instead of 2and 1/2 like Cal and Bay.

This picture is just because I thought it was cute. I love the big bobble head.

2 Months

Marlee turned 2 Months about 2 weeks ago, so I am little behind. I took her for her 2mo. checkup and she weighed 11lb 4oz and she is 22.5 inches. While we were at the checkup the Doc put her on her tummy to see how high she can lift her head up and she rolled over. It was the first time she had rolled, so we turned her over again just to check and she did it again. I was so shocked. She has been such a good baby. There hasnt been one night that I have had to actually get out of bed because of her, since she was 4 days old. Every night she wakes up once or twice, eats and goes back to sleep. She is usually really good during the day too. She will scream if she has a poopy diaper though. We have been really lucky with how good she is.

My parents came up at the beginning of the month and so we had Marlee blessed on the 3rd. We had lunch at Joshs folks afterwards, so most of the pics are at their place.

This is the blessing dress my mom made it when Callie was blessed and all 3 girls have worn it.
