Baileys Surgery

Bailey had surgery yesterday for an Inguinal Hernia. She had to be there at 7am so we got up at 6 and immedieately after waking her she started crying because she was hungry, but she knew that she was not allowed to eat. I didnt think it was going to be a prob because who wants to eat at 6am?
When we got there she got to put on a Princess dress. Its this cute green one below that her cheeks hang out of. She wasnt too excited, but she was being really brave and was doing all the things she was asked to doThat is until it was time to take her brave medicine. she wouldnt let the nurse give it to her, so the nurse gave it to me and she let me squirt it in her mouth, but then she spit a bunch back out. she must have gotten enough down though because about 5 or 10 minutes later the brave medicine made her really happy. It was so funny. she sat there with a perma - smile and kept pulling her hat down over her face and being a little goofy.
She had her beaver from the day before and new friend that the nurse gave her and was doing really good. When it was time for her to go to the OR she was ready to go and didnt mind that mom and dad werent coming with ( thank you Brave medicine!)
Everything went well with the sugery. It only took an hour and the Doc said it was a pretty big hernia, so it was a good thing to have it fixed. We met her in recovery and she was still kind of out. When she came too, she wasnt too happy or compliant. she did not want the oxygen mask on or even near her. Then had me get in the bed and hold her to calm her down, which helped, but she still didnt want to do what they asked. She was faced one way so they put the oxygen mask on my shoulder so it would just kind of blow towards her, but the little stinker turned her head the other way. We just had to wait for her to wake up and go pee, and then we could take her home. she did those pretty quick, but was complaining that her leg hurt. (.it wasnt actually her leg, but close.) That meant it was time for the painkiller, which of course she didnt like because it was gross. (she told me later that the medicines tasted like barf and poop.) We had to do a lot of cinvincing and then mixed it with juice and a lot more convincing and she finally got it down her.
We got her home by 11 and she has done really well ever since. Uncle Billy brought her balloons and a new color book and Grams and Gramps Stewart gave her a little mini dollhouse so she played with those things and ate all day. She was really hungry. Her boo boo hurt when she would move around too fast, but it didnt seemt obe to awful. I thought (and Hoped) that she would sleep part of the day, but no she was awake the whole day and really didnt want to still still or take it too easy. She did good throught the night until about 6:30 she woke up and was hurting. She was alot easier to get the painkiller down at that time, so she must have been hurting pretty bad. She is doing really good today and seems to be recovering really quickly.

So Bailey has a Hernia and is going to have surgery to fix it tommorrow. Today we were supposed to go to the hospital and get checked in and have her blood work done. I was so nervous to take her there today because I thought that she would get all upset and whine all day that she didnt want surgeryand then throw a fit tommorrow and make the surgery day even harder. So by the time we get to the hosp. she was crying, even though she didnt really know what she was going to have to do. So thank heavens Joshs cousin Jade (shes the best) met me over there( I called and asked her to when we were on the way thinking that she could just hold Mars while I handled Bailey). while I was doing the paperwork and checking in Jade took Bailey and got her all calmed down and happy. The read books and played games. So then it was her turn for the blood draw. Jade held Bay on her lap and I held her hand and held Marzee in my other arm. as soon as the lady touched her arm, Bailey started crying and freaking out. Poor kid. She survived and when she was done they told her that she gets to pick a toy from the box. mmediately she forgot the pain and picked out a stuffed beaver. Then we had to go talk to some dude to tell all her med hist and such and he gave her a cookie. I had already promised her a treat afterward so we went to the store and picked out a new color book and crayons and some M&Ms. So, now that she has seen all the attention she got and all the treats she was given she thinks she is the luckiest girl ever to get to have surgery tommorrow. When Callie got home she got all jealous and thinks that Bay is really lucky too. So today ended really well and I think we will at least enter the hospital with no tears.

Baileys 4!

What a cute little stinker! Our little girl is already 4. As you can probably tell she loves to pose for the camera. She is the sweetest little girl , and she can also be the biggest stinker. lately she loves coloring and cutting. She can spend hours with her color books. And the things she cuts out she wants to keep forever ( but I of course throw them all in the trash when she isnt looking). She likes cheerleading and tells me that that is what she wants to be when she grows up. She is really good at sharing, and shes really bad at helping clean up. She is a gamer like her dad. She really does not like to play in the snow. She will scream (loud) if she gets hit with a snowball, really though the same is true when anybody does anything she doesnt like. Her fave things to eat are peanut butter and honey sandwiches, fruit snacks, pasta saucesta, and chips for cheese. She is not easily persuaded to do anything that she doesnt want to do like during a recent doctor visit she was asked "can you sing your abcs?" "yes" " will you sing them for me?" "no".Both the doc and I tried to get her to do it, I think there were bribes of stickers involved, but she did not give in. she also would not take a deep breath for the doctor even though her mom told her she had to. She is a lot of fun though and can charm just about everyone. Oh, and she really likes Dr. Seuss books lately. She will bring me all of them that we have and sit and listen to them all, which is good because she not very long ago would not sit through any book when I am reading.
So there is more than you wanted to know about Bailey.

We got meat!

Josh went hunting yesterday with his bro. Kody and he got a cow elk. It pretty much looked like the picture above. I didnt show the picture of the one he actually got because I thought the pictures were kind of gross and bloody. Seeing the dead elk in the back of the truck, that I will
eventually eat was REALLY not my bag, but I guess I will have to buck up. I know meat that we eat comes from some animal somewhere, I just dont want to see that animal beforehand.

Anyways, I have never prepared a meal using elk meat before so if anyone has any tips or recipes please share!

Good job Josh!

Halloween

Last tuesday there was a carnival at church for the primary kids, so I took the girlies. Bailey wanted to be a Giants cheerleader this year, which wasnt too exciting bacause she has been wearing this outfit like twice a week for the last 2 months. Every time it was clean that is what she would put on and when it wasnt clean she would whine at my to try to get me to let her wear it. I dressed up Marlee to match that night.Callie was Cinderella. She had a really hard time deciding what she wanted to be this year. Cal was the only one who would do anything at the carnival and she pretty much rocked too. this pick is throwing a football through the hoola hoop game. What was Cal's score? 3 out of 3! Nice!she also got 3 out of 3 on the one where you throw the beanbag through the hole. Bailey wouldnt do anything that night. She wouldnt even take candy from the ladies when they held out the candy bowl. She said she didnt want to because she would just loose.

These are playing at home on Halloween During the day Callie was a ballerina, but I thought she would be too cold for trick or treat and her dad didnt like the costume too much.

So for Trunk or Treat she went as Snow white which is an old costume my mom made for Jen . Trunk or Treat was underwhelming. There wasnt very many handing out candy and more parked out of the lot going around for the candy. And I am pretty sure It ended early. I know we left really early.Marlee went as a Bear, mostly because I wanted her to be warm. We ended the night at Gram and Gramp Stewarts.

4 months!

We have had a busy week and a half. We moved into our house even though it wasnt (and still isnt) completly finished. It has been fun and really exhausting. Moving with a 4 mo. old that only breastfeeds and is at the stage of not liking other people besides mom and Dad - not so fun. Also we finished getting all of our crap into the house Sat. night and had to have everything looking good by 10 am Mon. for the appraisal. Then it was a week of trying to get everything finished onthe house. Its close, but not quite there.

Did Everyone watch Biggest Loser? Half of my team is now gone. I think they made the right choice though. the daddy I dont think could have competed very well. But I was so impressed by how much he went home and lost. I really didnt expect that from him.

Anyways, on to what this post was really about. Marlee is 4 Months old now. She had her shots last week and is now weighing 12 lb. 12.5 oz. She is a cute little stinkerbutt. She likes to talk and does this noise like she is fake laughing. I think that is all of our fave thing. She smiles every time that her Dad talks to her. she loves it. She is a pro at rolling both ways. I did have to get out of bed with her for the first time at night about 2 weeks ago. I dont know how I did that all the time with Bailey. Her sisters have been helping her with a few firsts.
Callie wanted her to experience music through headphones. She just kind of listened, didnt smile or anything. And today we went to the bank, and when you do the drive up window they usually give you a sucker or some candy for the kiddies. so Bailey was eating her sucker and she was in the seat next to Marlee. Bay started singing something about you want a sucker dont you over and over. I thought she was just kind of taunting Mars (not that Marlee would care), but when I went to get the kids out of the car I saw Bay moving the sucker away from Marlees face. I said you didnt really give it to her right? Bay stops and says no, but I look down at my babys very smiley face and see that her lips are red, shiny and slobbery. Quite a girl that Bailey! do you know many times I have told her that she cant feed the baby and not to put things up to her mouth? Too many to count, thats how many!
Oh well, so much for the rice or vegetables, Marlees first food will be suckers!
